Za'atar Crusted Halloumi and Charred Veggies Mezze Recipe

Today's beautiful warm weather has had me dreaming of BBQ food with its lovely charred and smokey flavour, best enjoyed in the sun.
So with this inspiration I decided to treat myself to a lovely mezze style lunch of charred vegetables, za'atar crusted halloumi and fresh bread from the 24 hour continental supermarket.

This is an easy recipe for you to try this at home for beautiful weather like this when you can't be bothered to get your BBQ out but fancy some delicious summer food.

Serves 1 greedy person or 2 as a light lunch with salad.

Chop some baby aubergine, okra and cherry toms and shallow fry them in a hot pan with a dollop of sweet chilli to get the caramalization going.

Dust cubes of halloumi in za'atar and add that to the pan.
Remove everything when it is slightly charred and serve!
I served with the bread and also some olives and sun blushed tomatoes I had in my fridge.

Yum!! Delicious

Mezze is the best!! Never come across za'atar though - what is it?

Clare - za'atar is a middle eastern sesame seed and sumac herby mixture.
